Sami Venteicher, LMHC received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands after completing her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Human Relations at the University of Iowa. She has a combined 10 years of experience between the National Suicide Prevention Hotline, BHIS services, both home-based and mobile crisis stabilization, and Critical Incident Stress Management. Sami works from a person-centered approach that encompasses the individuality of each human that comes to her and works off the basis of being unapologetically human in session. She currently uses the following modalities: CBT, CPT, DBT, EMDR, IFS, SSP, PCIT, TF-CBT, and Adlerian Play Therapy. She specializes in trauma with ages 9-102 and has worked closely with local school districts to provide adequate care to students.

Sami came from a home with multiple mental illnesses including schizophrenia, bipolar, depression, OCD, and anxiety. She was also involved as a foster and adoptive parent for 6 years. This personal experience has assisted her in looking for the understanding behind thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. She works with the client to find their best course of therapy including motivational interviewing, reflective questions, worksheets, somatic therapeutic interventions, homework, and more. Sami recognizes that therapy is not one size fits all and the importance of ensuring a proper fit for both the interventions and therapeutic relationship between client and provider.

Shelby

She may periodically join sessions/events and assist with emotional regulation. She is in her golden era and does not open up her time as much anymore, but she is still an integral member of this team and teaches us something new everyday!
